About Our Carbon Blades
Less Resin Equals More Strength
The American Composites carbon fiber blade is made similarly to other true carbon blades on the market. The major difference between the two is that we use less PPS resin content, thus allowing our blade to achieve much greater strength:
- Our blade is a carbon composite like others on the market, and will have similar attributes, such as:
1. up to 4X the wear resistance of Kevlar and phenolic composites
2. proper dimensions and tolerances
3. will help reduce cylinder wash boarding
4. will help prevent cylinder breakage if the blade should self-destruct under catastrophic conditions. - The American Composites carbon blade has 35% more flex strength (98kpsi vs 72kpsi) than the OEM version, and wear resistance is correlated to flex strength. Kevlar and phenolic blades by comparison only attain a flex strength of ~24kpsi. That is why they wear so quickly, all other things being equal.
- Ours is a competitor carbon blade on the same, if not better, quality level as the OEM version, and we are not affiliated with the OEM whatsoever.
